What comes to mind when you think of things that go well together? Cheese and wine, perhaps? Fish and chips, maybe? Strawberries and cream, even? For us, it’s that classic combination of bread and jam. If you find that you have some extra time on your hands, why not use this opportunity to whip up some delicious baked goods and tasty preserves? Read on to see how easy it is and discover new recipes on Cookidoo®.
No yeast? No knead!
Even if you don’t have any yeast at home, there are plenty of breads you can make without it. Baking powder and bicarbonate of soda bring lightness to the likes of Irish soda bread, English scones and Mexican cornbread. No kneading, proving or rising time is required. Then there are fabulous flatbreads, such as Indian chapatis, and French galettes which are delicious with a whole range of sweet and savoury fillings.

We hope you like jammin’ too
What could be better than preparing your own homemade fruity jam and spreading it on a freshly baked scone or a warm slice of soda bread? How about a cheeky chutney or a tomato chilli jam to go with your freshly made chapatis or cornbread? Strawberries, apricots, tomatoes and rhubarb are all coming into season and are perfect for making preserves that will last well into the summer.
